“I photographed the working environments located within the Toronto Harbour. The locations are where workers spend the majority of their time – what they see practically all day during the work week. For those of us who do not have a direct connection to these environments, the images are unique and revealing. They are presented as a series of diptychs, with the locations paired with portraits of the workers themselves. The portraits are close-ups focused on the subject’s eyes, and by using the natural light of the job site the working environment is reflected on each face.”
